Parallel decking runs lengthwise with the building. Standard balcony layout requiring reveal support at threshold junctions.
Parallel decking—where boards run parallel to the building façade—is the most common configuration. It offers a clean, uniform appearance, especially when the façade is flat and the rear Cassette® member is straight. Challenges arise at door sill interfaces, where deeper recesses may require offset supports. In such cases, rotating the boards 90 degrees (perpendicular) can simplify installation and improve structural support. Parallel decking also aligns well with offsite manufacturing (MMC), allowing final boards to be clipped in post-lift.
